Tipping Frontier is a London-based new startup for the public good. We model the 2nd order impacts of climate change and pandemics on national economies, incorporating systemic and cascading effects. We work with private financial institutions to price this risk into markets, incentivising investments into resilience. We also structure financial products to fund the most promising and capital-constrained interventions to build resilience to climate change and pandemics.
All roles can be remote or in-person, depending on preference. We are looking for part-time interns for the following tasks, we seek assistance to:
Business development: Identify critical regions and stakeholders which are climate and/or pandemic vulnerable or have the incentive to fund resilience. Development of copy and outreach to align investors and governments with the holistic cost and impact of these risks.
Modelling: Model the impacts of climate and pandemics and their cascading effects with cutting-edge agent-based models. Find key spatial datasets, research key assumptions for households, firms, and government actions, and stress test and validate the models.
UI/UX Design: Design and iterate our interactive platform that investors use to visually engage with our modelling.
Financial Products: Write intervention summaries/briefs, perform basic economic/financial analysis to calculate both ROI/DRR benefits and create project planning materials such as risk matrices, governance protocols and GANTT charts.
As a new startup, for the public good, we are unfortunately able to remunerate interns at this point in time, but we can provide connections, mentorship and references, keen to aid people in their future careers.
