BOAS is the sustainable marketplace currently selling earth-friendly baby and kids products in the EU, and with more product categories in development. The difference is that BOAS donates all our profits to benefit humanity instead of giving it away to shareholders.

Our mission is simple.
Our mandate is to save a million children from preventable causes including starvation, lack of clean water and disease. Our strategic vision is to build and grow our sustainable marketplace where customers know that their purchases fund positive change in the world, not just adding to the uber-wealth of the top 1 percent. Our vision is to move as much of the world's ten trillion $ in yearly profits from shareholders to those who need it most.

We’re looking to scale with philanthropists instead of conventional investors. Apart from this, our business operates just like the competition. We believe that our competitive advantage is that given the choice, most people would prefer buying from and working for a company that distributes all profits to kids in need instead of buying the CEO an even bigger luxury yacht. How many yachts does one person need anyway??

BOAS launched in January 2022 and we’ve grown to more than 1.500 products and we're a team of 3 C-levels (CEO, COO, CTO), 6 advisors and 10 interns (5 in marketing). We are currently bootstrap and in the process of raising pre-seed money and sustainability grants.

We are currently seeking a proven CMO who wants to make a real difference to round out the executive founding team.

Tasks

  • To help build the world’s largest marketplace, with the smallest footprint, donating billions in profits to save lives. Yes, our ambitions are large. Yours should be as well.
  • Ownership of creating the highest converting sustainable marketplace (CRO), working with developers and designers
  • You will get to know our customers through talking to users and lots of (AB) testing. We go through 2 weeks OKR sprints to move fast
  • Attract, develop and lead a remote marketing team
  • We have a great story. You need to create awareness through PR, social media, key influencers, viral media, partnerships, and other creative opportunities to maximize awareness, visits, and conversions.
  • Help to drive meaningful traffic and conversion with small budgets and limited resources.
  • Development, management, and ownership of our SEA, SEO, PR, Influencer strategy and campaigns
  • Active involvement in the BOAS strategy, vision, and being an internal advocate and strategist to fulfill the BOAS mission.

The challenge is real, but so is the impact that you can have. Initially, none of the team is drawing a salary, instead working for future equity. As cofounder, you would be in the same situation. As we continue to raise funds, with some great traction already, the company will begin to pay market wages. This is quite typical for pre-seed startups.

Requirements

Ideally, our cofounder matches the following:

  • you're not an asshole
  • you have a history of getting things done
  • you have a dream of leaving this world a better place
  • stating the obvious here: we’re not in it for the money and neither should you
  • organized, proactive, creative and you communicate extremely well
  • transparent, honest, trustworthy, with a reasonable ego.
  • people describe you as extremely effective
  • willing to commit for a longer period. After all, saving a million lives doesn’t happen overnight!
  • Able to turn low/no marketing budgets into tangible and meaningful results.
  • Superior / near-native English and excellent communication skills, both written and orally.
  • A passion to be an advocate for change in the world.

Benefits

What we offer you:

The opportunity to work at a truly unique environmental startup as one of the first employees, with a young, smart and ambitious team who are truly changing the world.

  • We care deeply for our colleagues and their mental and physical health. We don't care what you look like, where you're from, what you studied or any of those other things grownups find important. We care about your passion, commitment, and ability to drive the results required to complete our mission.
  • Unlimited holidays as long as you get shit done
  • Flexible working hours, days and location (remote)
  • Unconventional founders who listen to ideas and opinions as long as they are crazy
  • A culture of relaxed intensity. We're getting the right work done asap, but we're running a marathon, not a sprint
  • We’re currently a bootstrap business, looking to raise money from philanthropists to afford a full-time CMO position. Co-founders can start part-time (we expect you'll need at least 20 hours to get things done though). We don't have the money to pay you until we receive funding, but we have an incentive structure for founders.
Do you feel that it’s time in your career to give something back and make a true and sustainable difference in the world? If so, we would love to hear from you.

Send us your CV and Motivation Letter highlighting your rationale for wanting to make a difference.

We review each and every submission. Top candidates will meet with the founders. We anticipate starting interviews during the second half of December.

We are looking forward to meeting you!
